The League of Legends Worlds 2024 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated esports events of the year. As teams from across the globe gear up to compete, fans are eager to see which region will dominate the international stage.
With new strategies, updated rosters, and meta shifts, this year’s tournament promises fierce competition for the coveted Summoner’s Cup. Will the reigning champions defend their title, or will a new team rise to claim glory?
As always, the World Championship offers more than just gameplay, showcasing stunning visuals, unforgettable moments, and the electric energy that only League fans can bring. From group stages to the grand finals, every match will count as teams battle it out for the ultimate prize in professional gaming.

Teams in Worlds 2024:
There are currently 12 teams that have qualified for the World’s stage and are awaiting their turn to show what they are made of. There will be 20 teams that will compete for the Throne but only 1 will take it.
4 teams will qualify after playing the qualifying rounds starting from the 25th of September.
Following are the teams that have qualified for Worlds 2024:

Play-Ins Teams:
- From CBLOL we have Pain Gaming
- From LLA we have Rainbow7
- From VCS we have GAM Esports
- VCS’s second seed is Viking’s Esports
- PSG Talon as the first seed from PCS
- SoftBank Hawks Gaming (SHG) as the second seed from PCS
These teams will join MDK and 100T in the play-ins stage to qualify for the main stage.
Worlds 2024 Play-Ins Stage:
Worlds will start on the 25th of September with the Play-Ins stage and it will be held in the LEC studio in Berlin. The 8 teams are drawn into 2 group double-elimination bracket where all matches are best of 3.

The 4 teams that win 2 out of their 3 series will qualify for the main stage of Worlds which is also known as the Swiss Stage.
Worlds 2024 Swiss Stage:
The Swiss stage starts on October 3rd in Berlin. The Swiss Stage will go on until the 13th of October and it will also be played in the LEC studio in Berlin.
The 16 teams will play 5 rounds of best of 3 and best of 1 matches. The rules of Swiss Stage are:
- Teams that win 3 rounds move to the next stage
- Teams that lose 3 rounds are Eliminated
To start the Swiss-Stage the teams will be drawn into 4 different pools. These pools/groups are:
Pool 1:
- HLE
- BLG
- G2
- FlyQuest
Pool 2:
- GenG
- TES
- TL
- FNC
Pool 3:
- DK
- T1
- LNG
- WBG
Pool 4:
- Qualifier of Play-ins 1
- Qualifier of Play-ins 2
- Qualifier of Play-ins 3
- Qualifier of Play-ins 4
Worlds 2024 Round 1:
In round 1 the pool 4 teams will match against the pool 1 teams and the pool 2 teams will be matched against the pool 3 teams.
Note: No 2 same region teams will match against each other in round 1. This means that Geng will either face LNG or WBG and TES will face either T1 or DK.
Worlds 2024 Rounds 2 and 3:
In Rounds 2 and 3, the teams with identical scores will face each other. E.g all 1/0 teams will face each other and all 0/1 teams will face each other. This process is repeated until all the teams have either 3 wins or 3 losses.
The initial matches are best of 1 while the advancement/elimination matches are best of 3. This means that if a team has 2 wins or 2 losses, all of their remaining matches will be best of 3’s until they have qualified or are eliminated.
Something that is different from last year also exists in this Swiss- Stage. There will be no rematches between teams in this Worlds.
At the end of the Swiss Stage, there will be 8 teams remaining.
The teams with a 3/0 record will be drawn with the 2 of the 3 teams with a 3/2 record. The other 3/2 team and the teams with the 3/1 record will be drawn against each other.
The two 3/0 teams will also be placed on the opposite sides of the knock-out stages.
Knock-Out Stage:
After the Swiss Stage is done, we move onto the knock-out stage where all the matches are best of 5’s and elimination matches
The Quarter Finals will be held from the 17th to the 20th of October in the Adidas Arena in Paris.
Semi-Finals:
The Semi-Finals will also be played at the Adidas Arena in Paris on the 26th and 27th of October.
Finals:
The Final will be played at O2 Arena in London.
