Mufasa: The Lion King is an upcoming movie by Walt Disney Pictures. The movie is a prequel to the 2019 remake of the 1994 film The Lion King.

The movie will be released in theaters on December 20, 2024, utilizing the same CGI technology as Jon Favreau’s The Lion King from 2019. The film was officially announced at the 2022 D23 Expo in September when its official title was revealed.

Storyline:

The story of movie follows Simba, the child of Mufasa better known as The Lion King. Simba is determined to follow in his paw prints to live a life of its own. The prequel about the rise of one of the greatest kings of the Pride Lands, and the origin story of the late Mufasa.

The trailer of this upcoming movie looks impressive by its extremely realistic graphics. Although the made is made using computer graphics, the details in the frames make it absolutely real. It is hard to point out any detail with a human to determine that is an animation. The work here by the team is just incredible.

Music:

Music plays an instrumental part in showcasing the story of the movie. It was in June 2022 when Nicholas Britell was hired to serve as composer for the score on the film’s soundtrack.

Then later in September 2022, it was announced that Hans Zimmer and Pharrell Williams would also return for the film.

Now in April 2024, it has been announced that Lin-Manuel Miranda would write the songs for the film.

My Thoughts:

The stories of Loin King a told long before I was even born. It all began with the release of its book stories and the first two parts of its movie series at the end of the 19th century. The movie is without a doubt a must-watch treasure for its good old grown-up fan kids.
