Welcome to the first WWE Raw after kicking off the Road to WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas with the 38th annual Royal Rumble PLE this past Saturday. Jey Uso and Charlotte Flair have now punched their tickets for the main event in the showcase of immortals.
But, before we get there, we have one more stop in between Elimination Chamber: Toronto. This week’s edition of WWE Raw goes to Cleveland, Ohio as 13,432 WWE fans gather in the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Main Event Jey Uso Kicked Off WWE Raw
WWE Raw began with a little recap of a big 2025 Royal Rumble PLE as the Main Event Jey Uso arrived on WWE Raw after winning the 2025 Men’s WWE Royal Rumble match. The excitement was all over the arena as Jey Uso made his way to the ringside, while the WWE Universe chanted “You Deserve It.”.
Jey was overwhelmed with the emotions and tears in his eyes as he thanked the fans for being on his side for so long before the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther made his way out to the ring as well. Gunther laid out his vision of what happened at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas if Jey Uso, saying that he would destroy his at the grandest stage of them all.
Main Event Jey Uso responded saying he would tell his pick soon after visiting the WWE SmackDown and meeting the “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes.
Key Notes and Observation:
- Michael Cole on commentary mentioned that Jey Uso is 4th member of the legendary Anoaʻi family to win a WWE Royal Rumble match.
- “Let’s be honest here, Jey. You can’t even lace my boots.” Gunther said to Jey during the segment.
Pénta vs. Ludwig Kaiser
After getting eliminated by Pénta in the 2025 Men’s WWE Royal Rumble match in just 6 seconds, an angry Ludwig Kaiser faced Penta in a singles match. Penta delivered an amazing performance and won the match after hitting his signature Penta driver.
Pete Dunne interrupted Penta after the match during an interview segment which allowed Kaiser to attack Penta from the back.

Key Notes and Observation:
- Penta was the ‘Iron Man’ in the 2025 Men’s WWE Royal Rumble match as he spent ‘42:07’ in the match.
- A move of Penta ‘Sacrifice’ where he hyperextends the opponent’s arm and elbow, looks to me like very oversold by WWE. The movie is good but the commentary reactions are a bit too loud on that.
A backstage segment featuring The Judgment Day
WWE Raw then featured a highlight from last week where JD McDonagh suffered “Broken Ribs and Punctured Lung” during his tag team World Tag Team Championship match against The War Raiders. Finn Bálor then returned to WWE Raw on Netflix after his Street Fight against Damian Priest on the Jan. 13th edition of WWE Raw, asking Dominik Mysterio if he needs a babysitter since he cannot handle the business and the fact that McDonagh is now on the bench.
Liv Morgan jumped in saying Mysterio has got him a 2025 Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match and that the Judgment Day would listen to him from now onwards.
“The Queen” Charlotte Flair arrives on WWE Raw on Netflix
After winning the 2025 Women’s WWE Royal Rumble match, and making history Charlotte Flair then arrived on WWE Raw to address her future on the Road to WrestleMania 41.
Before Flair could actually talk about anything significant, Rhea Ripley arrived on the scene as well. So, Flair and Ripley have already met twice at WrestleMania in a singles match — back when Flair challenged and defeated Ripley at WrestleMania 36 after winning the Royal Rumble match and Ripley then challenged and defeated Flair at WrestleMania 39 after winning the Royal Rumble match during the respective years.
They both recalled their history with Ripley saying that she was a kid back then at WrestleMania 36, Flair responded to her by saying “You are still a kid.”
An outraged Ripley responded saying: “Pick me… Please Pick me. So I can beat the respect into you.”
I want this match, Damn it. Please give it to me. Give me what I want..!!

- Charlotte Flair is now the first 2-time Women’s Royal Rumble winner in the history of WWE.
Backstage interview segment featuring Sami Zayn
After coming short in the 2025 Men’s WWE Royal Rumble match, Sami Zayn talked about his 2025 Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match saying that this is his only focus right now. Jackie Redmond tried to continue with her questions before Zayn saw Jey Uso and congratulated him on his biggest victory.
Karrion Kross then appeared in the scene after Jey left asking Zayn about how he feels seeing everyone else living his dream.
Chaos backstage on WWE Raw on Netflix
While heading backstage Rhea Ripley met Iyo Sky, who told her that it could be her who faced her at WWE WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas before Liv Morgan attacked Sky from the back. Raquel Rodriguez Ripley when she tried to help Sky.
Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee vs. The New Day
After defeating Kofi Kingston on the Jan. 20th edition of WWE Raw and Xavier Woods Jan. 27th edition of WWE Raw, Rey Mysterio now teamed with Dragon Lee to take on The New Day in a tag team match.
The match was going all good before Logan Paul interrupted Mysterio ahead of their 2025 Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match set to take place here on WWE Raw on Netflix next week. This sudden interruption allowed Kingston to take advantage and pull Lee from the top rope using his mask and Woods also attacked Mysterio from the back as the match continued. Meanwhile, Paul joined the show by sitting near the commentary desk.
Mysterio had a little more interaction with Paul during the match when he pushed him into his chair, who returned the favor by attacking him behind the referee’s back. Kingston took the advantage and won the match for his team.

Backstage interview segment featuring CM Punk
CM Punk then appeared in a backstage interview segment talking about his setback in the 2025 Men’s WWE Royal Rumble match, as he prepared for his 2025 Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match against Sami Zayn — later on the show.
WWE Raw also featured a highlight from the 2025 Men’s WWE Royal Rumble match, where IShowSpeed replaced an injured Akira Tozawa to enter his first WWE Royal Rumble match. The video got over 300 Million views on the internet, in less than 24 hours.
Iyo Sky faces Liv Morgan in the 2025 Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match
After attacking Sky earlier on the show Morgan now has no advantage inside the ring as she faces Sky in a singles match. Both women were having a great match before Raquel Rodriguez interfered, but Sky still hung on. After Rodriguez interfered a few more times in the match, Ripley arrived on the scene and attacked her.
Ripley also hit Morgan in the mix after she tried to interfere which cost the match and Elimination Chamber spot to Iyo Sky.
Morgan defeated Sky to head to the 2025 Women’s Elimination Chamber match.

Key Notes and Observation:
- Bayley and Lyra Valkyria were both in the WWE Universe ahead of their 2025 Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match, next week here on WWE Raw on Netflix.
- Iyo Sky “1:06:45” and Liv Morgan “1:07:00” also started the 2025 Women’s WWE Royal Rumble match, and were both eliminated by Nia Jax.
- Rhea Ripley tried to say sorry to Iyo Sky after the match but she was a bit too angry about how the match ended.
A backstage segment featuring The War Raiders and American-Made
After retaining their World Tag Team Championship last week, The War Raiders met the American Made and challenges for the World Tag Team Championship.
Backstage interview segment featuring Adam Pearce
WWE Raw GM Adam Pearce then appeared in an interview segment with Cathy Kelley, announcing that AJ Styles is now on WWE Raw on Netflix. Bron Breakker then appeared on the segment asking Pearce about what’s next for him before they both left a meeting.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins Promo
After coming short in the 2025 Men’s WWE Royal Rumble match, Seth Rollins arrived on WWE Raw to address his future. Rollins began the segment by congratulating Jey Uso as turned his attention to his long-time rivals CM Punk and Roman Reigns.
Rollins then mentioned his upcoming 2025 Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match against Finn Bálor before turning his attention toward Sami Zayn — calling him down to the ring early to have a few words. Rollins then reminded Zayn about what Punk said to him that he is not on his level. Rollins told Zayn that he is a good person and he is levels above Punk.
Key Notes and Observation:
- “For the past 4 years, Roman Reigns has done nothing but hurt those close to him,” Rollins said during his promo.
- “You are levels above CM Punk,” Rollins said to Zayn to cheer him up.
CM Punk faces Sami Zayn in the 2025 Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
Immediately following the Rollins segment began the main event of the WWE Raw. While heading backstage, Rollins had a little fight with Punk but the referee got things in control. Both men had the effects of the war at the Rumble match, feeling exhausted and banged up. The match had great close finishers and near falls, but in the end Punk pulled off the victory, to qualify for the 2025 Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match.
I wonder what would happen if Punk and Rollins were the final two in the 2025 Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifying match. Zayn certainly earned the respect of Punk as the two men shook hands after the match.
Kevin Owens appeared and attacked Zayn from the back after the match, hitting his best friend with the Package piledriver as the show ended.

- WWE has literally given Owens everything, first Stunner and now the Package piledriver.
- I think we are finally going to get Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn at WWE WrestleMania 41, and the storyline has begun.

My thoughts on this week’s edition of WWE Raw
Coming fresh out of the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble PLE, WWE delivered another amazing and story-driven edition of WWE Raw on Netflix. As we now step foot on the road to WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, WWE has already started hinting towards the Jey Uso vs. Gunther at Mania along with the Flair and Ripley III as well.
The show also featured two awesome qualifying matches for the 2025 Elimination Chamber PLE. This week’s edition of WWE Raw ended with an attack by Kevin Owens on Sami Zayn, which I think will be a great match for WrestleMania 41 — also the story between Owens and Zayn is not finished yet. I think it’s time to run it back.
We’re surely not in Hollywood but Cinema is upon us.
