George R. R. Martin is the writer of this masterpiece; he has written five books in the series Game of Thrones. Born on September 20th, 1948 Martin is an American author, writer, and television producer.
The series Game of Thrones is inspired by a time period called “Wars of the Roses,” which was a battle between the Yorks and Lancasters. The first book of Game of Thrones was written “A Song of Ice and Fire”.
This novel was published on August 6th, 1996. I won the Lucas Award in 1997 and was nominated for the Nebula Award. A Clash of Kings (The second book of A Song of Ice and Fire), second season, we see Joffrey taking over the crown, and the war of the 7 kingdoms begins.
The third season of Game of Thrones was known as “A Storm of Swords.” It was the third novel of the seven planned novels. This was published in the UK on August 8th, 2000. The 4th book of the novel Song of Ice and Fire was named “A Feast of Crows.”
This novel was published after a gap of 5 years on October 17th, 2005, in the United Kingdom, and in the United States on November 8th. “A Dance with Dragons” was the fifth novel in the Song of Ice and Fire, released on July 12th, 2011.
This was unfortunately the last novel that was published, and there is no news for the sixth novel of the seven planned novels in this series.
Game of Thrones: Storyline
The story of this masterpiece is one of the main reasons for its success. The story starts when “The Mad King” is murdered by Jaime Lannister, AKA Kingslayer, and now Robert Baratheon sits on the Iron Throne. The head of the Stark family, “Ned stark,” and Robert are good friends.
Cersei Lannister is the second wife of Robert. After the death of Robert, Ned Stark was betrayed by the Lannister, and the Crown is in the hands of Joffrey Baratheon. Now all seven kingdoms are at war. In the north, we have Robb Stark and his brother, Theon Greyjoy. On the other side, across the narrow sea, Deaneyers is married to a Dhothraki Khal, and she is now the Khaleesi of Dothraki.
Now all of the seven kingdoms are on the verge of war, and more or less everyone wants to sit on the throne. We get to witness hardships, cruelty, violence, mass amounts of bloodshed, and execution. For the sake of the throne, we ought to see the rightful heir to the Iron Throne and the ruler of the seven kingdoms. This series was an art on its own, from the VFX to the environment. From the characters to the dialogue, everything is top-notch. Game of Thrones is arguably one of the best TV shows ever made.

Further into the series, we get to see so many twists, some of them so unlikely that you would expect this to not even be true. Twists like the betrayal of Robb Stark by Walder Frey, the death of Jon Snow, and the rebirth and execution of Ned Stark.
These happenings are so mind-blowing that the viewer is forced to watch what happens next. Daenerys has three dragons, and literally no one knows who will sit on the Iron Throne. Each Stark has his or her own story and battles. With Jon Snow on the wall, Arya Stark trains with the faceless man to avenge her father, and Brandon Stark embarks on a great journey beyond the wall to become the three-eyed raven.

The Wall, Winter, and the White Walkers. At the very start of the season, we get to witness the White Walkers. Who are they? And why is everyone so afraid of the winter? What about the wall? The iron throne is not everything; there is a much more powerful and dangerous threat coming for everyone in the world.
There lies a huge wall separating the seven kingdoms from what’s beyond the wall. No one wants to accept it, but the white walkers are real, and they are going to come for every single person. It would not matter who sits on the Iron Throne; the only thing that matters is going to be the great war. There is a war between life and death.

Game of Thrones has earned a good amount from the books as well. Just from 2020 to 2021, it has earned well over 100 million USD from books.
The total amount earned is not certain, but it is known that the author was earning about 10 million dollars per year at that time. Being the most successful TV series ever made. The first season of Game of Thrones was announced on April 17th, 2011. It was available on HBO. With 10 episodes, each around 55 minutes. It was filmed between 23rd july-18th december. Just after a year, on April 1st, 2012, we got the first episode of Game of Thrones season 2, “A Clash of Kings,” which was based on the second novel of “A Song of Ice and Fire.”
It concluded on June 3rd, 2012. This season also had 10 episodes, with approximately 60 minutes for each episode. “Valar dohaeris” on March 31, 2013, with the gap of another year. Game of Thrones returns with better storytelling and amazing characters. Concluded with ”Mhysa” on June 9th, 2013. The fourth season launched on April 6th, 2014, again with 10 episodes, each about 55–60 minutes long. The Game of Thrones 5th season was released on April 12th and concluded on June 14th, 2015. This season also consisted of 10 episodes, each lasting about an hour. “The Red Woman” concluded on “The Winds of Winter” on June 26th.
With 10 episodes, this was the 6th season of Game of Thrones in 2016. “Dragonstone” concluded on “The Dragon and the Wolf.” July 16th–August 27th, 2017: The seventh season came out with only 7 episodes, each of about 65 minutes. Last but not least, the 8th season, after a gap of 2 years, began on April 14, 2019, with 6 episodes, and the series Game of Thrones was concluded.

Controversy between the Fanbase

After the sixth season, fans were unhappy because of the turns the series was taking. Many were unpleasant for the ending as well.
The ending was fine, but it seemed a little fast and forced. What the fans were expecting was a slow and natural ending. Brandon Stark was named the King and the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. Sansa Stark was named the Queen of the North, an independent kingdom.
Brandon Stark was chosen for his position, and a rule was passed that each king would be elected through votes, and the rule of kings and then their sons was overruled. These were some important steps taken for the betterment of all kingdoms. And with that, this great series was concluded, and we shall not see another season of this series. Jon Snow was sent to the wall. Tyrion Lannister was named the hand of the king.
