Google I/O ’24 has been concluded, Google has announced a lot of their upcoming AI models that will revolutionize AI and its uses in the coming year.
Google has announced tons of improvements to its Gemini. The context window for Gemini Ai has now been expanded to 2 million tokens, more than any other Ai in the world. Major advancements have also been announced and released in Multimodality and Long context.
Gemini in Gmail:
Google I/O ’24 kicked off with the release of Gemini in Gmail. It summarizes all recent emails related to one certain subject to provide better and filtered results which can save you a lot of time and hassle.
Also if the recording of the meeting is way too long to watch in one single sitting, Gemini can provide you with all the important highlights.
Ask Photos:
Ask Photos can provide you with photos from a certain timeline for anything specific. e.g. “Show me how my beard and hair have grown in the last 12 months /or you can say show me how my son’s swimming has progressed”.
After this, Gemini will go beyond a simple search analyzing all of your photos and will create a package of photos uniquely made for you related to your query.
AI Agents:
AI Agents are based on three things “Reasoning, Planning, and Memory”.
They can think multiple steps ahead and work across software and systems. We can delegate tasks to them for completion, but we can supervise them closely to ensure everything aligns with our expectations and avoid any mishaps.
It uses our phone camera to see things around us and provide us with solutions for our problems. It can also help us locate our missing things. Including many other interesting things that we can think about, what they can do for us.
Gemini 15 Flash:
Google has also announced Gemini 15 Flash which is a lighter-weight model of its pro version.
It’s uniquely designed to be fast and cost-efficient. It will also have multi-model reasoning capabilities and will be able to break through long contexts.
Veo:
Veo is Google’s all-new and most advanced generative video model. It can create high-quality 1080p videos using text, images, and video prompts.
I can understand all the details within the prompt to create a video in different visual and cinematic styles.
Trillium:
Google has also announced Trillium, a 6th generation of CPUs that delivers a 4.7x improvement in compute performance compared to its last generation.
AI Overviews:
Google AI Overviews is a new feature that we can see on the search engine while searching for any of our queries. It provides us with brief answers and links related to our search query to make thing easy and faster.
Google is improving to make it more helpful and able to answer more complex questions. It will even help you find solutions for your problems using video and audio prompts. Google intends to bring AI Overviews to over 1 Billion people by the end of 2024.
Gems:
Gems is an all-new feature that lets us customize AI according to our needs. We can also create personal AI experts for any certain topics we want.
Gemini on YouTube:
Gemini has now also been added to the YouTube application on our smartphones.
Suppose we are watching any long YouTube video, we can just simply ask the Gemini app on our smartphone to work with YouTube and provide us answers to our specific questions related to that video.
This can save us a lot of time and ultimately give us the answers we need more quickly.
Gemini Nano with Multimodality:
This will allow our phones to see the world around us just like we do. It will be doing all of this using text input but also through sounds, sights, and spoken language.
Pali Gemma & Gemma 2:
Pali Gemma is Google’s first vision language open model, which is also available to use right now.
Google has also announced the Gemma 2. It is the next generation of Gemma and it will be available for users in June 2024.
Learn LM:
Lastly before finishing the I/O ’24 Google introduced its new AI model for learning. It can help you understand educational videos on YouTube more easily.

Google has truly laid the foundation for the future of AI and the tech world in general.
After the huge success of Open AI, there were a lot of questions roaming around regarding whether AI has finally taken over Google. Now the answer is simple, Google also jumped into the race for AI to revolutionize this new era of technology.
