After an epic Saturday Night’s Main Event, WWE SmackDown has now headed to Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center in Knoxville, TN.
Nia Jax vs. Naomi vs. Jade Cargill
WWE SmackDown kicked off with Bianca Belair, who walked down to the ring for a heartfelt homecoming. Naomi then also arrived on the scene, saying she just wants her forgiveness and that she also broke into her house — and also went through her photo album. Naomi then threatened Belair and her mother about putting them in a wheelchair before Jade Cargill made her appearance felt as she took the fight to Naomi.
Their already scheduled Women’s Money in the Bank qualifying match then stared as Nia Jax also made her way to the ring. The chaos was all over the ring as all three women looked to seize the ultimate opportunity. Jax took out Cargill which allowed Naomi to roll over Jax and secure the win for herself.
Result: Naomi defeated Nia Jax and Jade Cargill

R-Truth vs. JC Mateo
R-Truth then met Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and JC Mateo backstage where he challenged Mateo, which then began immediately.
Mateo dominated Truth to pick up another win on WWE SmackDown. Sikoa and Mateo began to attack Truth after the match before Jimmy Uso arrived on the scene to help his friend. He then also got laid out by Mateo and Sikoa.
Result: JC Mateo defeated R-Truth

Key Notes and Observations:
- Chelsea Green then met GM Nick Aldis in a backstage segment asking to suspend Zelina Vega and take away her Women’s US Championship. Green then demanded a Singles match between Vega and Alba Fyre, which was made official.
Los Garzas vs. Je’Von Evans and Rey Fenix
After retaining their WWE Tag Team Championship last week here on WWE SmackDown, Street Profits then arrived on WWE SmackDown as they met Fraxiom. Axiom and Nathan Frazer demanded a rematch before Motor City Machine Guns also arrived on the scene saying they also want a shot at the gold.
DIY then also decided to come out, saying that there is a conspiracy being played against them. The Wyatt Sicks then arrived on the scene as they took out everybody inside the ring.
The tag team match between Los Garzas against the team of Je’Von Evans and Rey Fenix then began. Ethan Page, who was sitting on the commentary desk on the ringside, tried to attack both Evans and Fenix but got taken out by Evans. Evans continued to fight the odds until Santos Escobar also got involved, allowing Page to attack him behind the referee’s back.
Angel and Berto then took advantage to win the match.

Zelina Vega vs. Alba Fyre
Alba Fyre then competed in a singles match, thanks to Chelsea Green who asked GM Nick Aldis for this. Fyre came into the match with fury as Green and Piper Niven continued to provide her with assistance from the ringside as well.
Vega delivered an impressive performance to pick against all odds.
Result: Zelina Vega defeated Alba Fyre

Damian Priest puts Jacob Fatu on notice
After coming out victorious in the Steel Cage match against Drew McIntyre at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Damian Priest arrived on WWE SmackDown saying McIntyre is now in the past for him. Priest then mentioned that he now wants to put his focus on winning the championship, as he mentioned Jacob Fatu.
Priest also talked about stepping inside the ring with Fatu. Fatu and Priest then had a face-off on the stage as Fatu walked down to the ring for his scheduled match.

Jacob Fatu vs. Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes
Men’s Money in the Bank qualifying match then began between Jacob Fatu, Andrade, and Carmelo Hayes, all looking to head to Los Angeles.
The Miz tried to help Hayes from the ringside, but instead got laid out by Fatu. Fatu seemed to dominate his opponents as JC Mateo and Solo Sikoa also arrived on the ringside for his support. Sikoa and Mateo tried to provide instructions to Fatu from the ringside before Jimmy Uso took them out.
Andrade then took advantage of the situation to win the match.
Result: Andrade defeated Jacob Fatu and Carmelo Hayes

- WWE SmackDown then went backstage, where Jacob Fatu told Solo Sikoa that he doesn’t need his help.
Cody Rhodes and John Cena go face-to-face on WWE SmackDown
Ahead of his big-time tag team match at Money in the Bank 2025, Cody Rhodes arrived on WWE SmackDown talking about his post-WrestleMania 41 days. Rhodes then called out Jey Uso for some Yeeting.
John Cena then also arrived on WWE SmackDown, calling both Rhodes and Jey a John Cena wanna be. Cena then also brought out Logan Paul to the ring as they began to diss Rhodes and Jey. Paul mentioned how Jey got lucky at Saturday Night’s Main Event, also called out Rhodes and Jey as “Nepo babies”.
Rhodes and Jey then had enough as a brawl broke out between all four men. Rhodes and Jey stood tall as they wiped the mat with both Cena and Paul, sending them out of the ring.

My thoughts on this week’s edition of WWE SmackDown:
This week’s edition of WWE SmackDown was well used to elevate the upcoming 2025 Money in the Bank PLE in Los Angeles. 2025 Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifying matches featured some incredible action, with Andrade, Jacob Fatu, and Carmelo Hayes delivering an epic must-see.
The tension between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu reached an all-time high after Fatu was unable to qualify for the match. I think it’s just a matter of a few more weeks before things go south between them. This final segment involving John Cena, Logan Paul, Cody Rhodes, and Jey Uso delivered some entertaining stuff ahead of their own big-time tag team match.
