With just a few days away from WWE Backlash, WWE Raw has headed to the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Announced in advance of Monday’s show:
- Iyo Sky vs. Roxanne Perez
- Otis vs. Rusev
- Penta battles JD McDonagh
- Becky Lynch is on WWE Raw
- Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Paul Heyman address the WWE Universe
Jey Uso Kicks off WWE Raw
Jey Uso kicked off the show after meeting Logan Paul on multiple occasions last week here on WWE Raw, but he got interrupted by Paul Heyman.
Jey talked about how he once warned both Roman Reigns and CM Punk about him. Heyman replied, saying how Punk put him in a place that would destroy his relationship with Reigns. Heyman also mentioned how Reigns thought when he stood in the corner of Punk for just one night, thinking that he would tell all their secrets to Punk.
Heyman also mentioned that Reigns lost his championship due to his own mistake, and then he also never came to help Heyman against Solo Sikoa, until he needed his Ula Fala back.
Heyman then told Jey that Seth Rollins has issued a challenge to him for his World Heavyweight Championship. Jey then accepted the challenge for later on tonight.

Penta vs. JD McDonagh
Dominik Mysterio defeated Penta to retain his Intercontinental Championship on the Apr. 21st edition of WWE Raw, with a little assist from his friends JD McDonagh and Carlito. Penta then came out for revenge on McDonagh during his tag team match against The War Raiders last week here on WWE Raw, which led to this singles match between them.
McDonagh got assistance from Finn Balor, Carlito, and Chad Gable, but nothing worked out for him as Penta still managed to pull off the victory.
Result: Penta defeated JD McDonagh
Ratings: 6.5 /10

- Paul Heyman met Seth Rollins backstage, saying Jey Uso has agreed to face him for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Sheamus vs. Austin Theory
WWE Raw then featured a singles match between Sheamus and Austin Theory, thanks to Grayson Waller — who suckered his friend into it.
Sheamus delivered an amazing performance to pick up the win.
Result: Sheamus defeated Austin Theory

Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch come Face-to-Face on WWE Raw
Ahead of her Women’s Intercontinental Championship match against Lyra Valkyria at WWE Backlash, Becky Lynch arrived on WWE Raw saying Valkyria is just garbage. Valkyria then came out on the scene, telling Lynch that she doesn’t have anything to do with her success. Valkyria then mentioned how Lynch paved the way for every woman behind her, but never cared to take someone to the top with her.
A brawl then broke out between both Valkyria and Lynch, with Valkyria standing on top.
Ratings: 8 /10
Iyo Sky vs. Roxanne Perez
Iyo Sky came to the aid of Rhea Ripley last here on WWE Raw when she was attacked by both Perez and Giulia, which now led to this singles match between Sky and Perez.
After a long and incredible sequence of near falls, Sky picked up the win. Perez and Giulia then attacked Sky after the match, taking her out with a double team offence.
Result: Iyo Sky defeated Roxanne Perez

Otis vs. Rusev
Rusev made his return to WWE after more than five years on the Apr. 21st edition of WWE Raw when he took out both Otis and Akira Tozawa, leading to this match.
Otis put up a great fight but it was not enough against Rusev, who picked up the win via submission.
Tozawa tried to stand against Rusev for his friend, only for Rusev to destroy them both.
Result: Rusev defeated Otis

Pat McAfee and Gunther come face-to-face one last time
GM Adam Pearce then called out Pat McAfee and Gunther for a final meeting ahead of their match at WWE Backlash.
McAfee mentioned how he and Guther both grew up wanting to be in WWE. He also mentioned how this whole thing is a dream for him and just a job for Gunther.
Gunther then told McAfee that he would have his full and undivided attention on Saturday, and he would drop him.

Jey Uso (c) vs. Seth Rollins – World Heavyweight Championship match
After winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41, Jey Uso faced Seth Rollins in his first title defence.
Both Jey and Rollins gave their all, putting each other to the limit. Rollins turned to Bron Breakker for assistance before Sami Zayn also arrived on the scene and took out Breakker, before Breakker took out both Zayn and Jey on the ringside.
Rollins then hit Jey with the stomp before CM Punk came to the aid and took out Breakker and Rollins, causing the match to end via disqualification.
Result: Seth Rollins defeated Jey Uso (c) via disqualification

My thoughts on this week’s edition of WWE Raw:
WWE managed to deliver a strong show on the final WWE Raw before WWE Backlash. The show was focused on elevating the storylines in a long-term perspective, rather than just around the next big PLE.
Sky and Perez delivered an amazing match, while Sheamus and Theory also did a great job. I’m not what WWE is planning to do with Rusev, but you can’t just put him against the Tag Team division for too long. I hope WWE finds a way to insert him in a feud that would be great for TV.
Rollins and Jey also delivered an amazing match, with Punk now back into the mix once again. Let’s see how the story rolls on.
