Bloodline kicks off WWE SmackDown

After helping Jacob Fatu to retain his United States Championship at WWE Backlash, WWE SmackDown kicked off with the arrival of the Bloodline along with their newest member, JC Mateo. Sikoa talked about his intentions of winning the Money in the Bank before Fatu snatched the microphone from him, saying that he doesn’t need his help and he can do it all by himself. Things started to get a little tense when Sikoa asked Fatu to tell him that he loved him.

LA Knight then arrived on the scene and attacked JC from behind and then ran away.

WWE has been teasing this feud between Sikoa and Fatu for months now. I think we’re getting close to the point where things will get really ugly, really soon.

Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Nia Jax – WWE Women’s Championship

Tiffany Stratton shocked the entire world when she cashed in her Money in the Bank contract on Nia Jax to become the new WWE Women’s Champion on the Jan. 3rd edition of WWE SmackDown. Both Jax and Stratton had been feuding for months ever since that day. It was last week here on WWE SmackDown when Jax defeated Jade Cargill to earn the right to challenge Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship.

Stratton and Jax went on to deliver an incredible Women’s Championship before Naomi arrived on the scene with a steel chair in her hand, followed by Jade Cargill who took the fight to her.

Meanwhile, Stratton managed to turn the tables on Jax behind the referee’s back to retain her Women’s Championship in an instant classic.

My thoughts on this week’s edition of WWE SmackDown:

This week’s WWE SmackDown was all focused on building storylines towards both Money in the Bank and Saturday Night’s Main Event PLE.

WWE has been working well on slowly igniting the feud between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, but I think we won’t see a big blow until we reach SummerSlam. The in-ring action was also good this week with Fraxiom and DIY delivering a really good and fun match while Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax stole the show with their incredible WWE Women’s Championship match.

Alexa Bliss and Solo Sikoa also punched their tickets to their respective Money in the Bank matches, with some incredible in-ring action.

My Ratings for the show: 7 /10
