We are just a few hours away from WWE WrestleMania 39 – Night 2 to be held in the beautiful SoFi Stadium in Inglewood Los Angeles, California. Before we walk into another history-making night, It’s to relive a fantastic star-studded WrestleMania 39 – Night 1.
I’ll go through every match that went down on Night 1, providing you with reviews and ratings.
Austin Theory (C) def. John Cena (United States Championship)
We kicked off the WWE WrestleMania 39: Night 1 with the United States Championship on the line. Snoop Dogg alongside The Miz welcomed the WWE Universe to WrestleMania 39 and gave a rundown of the star-studded match card for night one, then came out Austin Theory to defend his U.S. title against John Cena.
Theory and Cena went on to put on a US Championship which will certainly be talked about down the road.
Theory went on to put in a dominant performance against the 16-time world champion. When Cena made a comeback and locked in the STF Submission, the referee had already been knocked down, and then over 80,000 people saw Theory tapping out.
Theory took the advantage of the referee situation by hitting a low blow to Cena, before hitting his finisher A-Town Down to pin the 16 Times champ and pick up the win.

Street Profits win the Fatal 4-Way Men’s WrestleMania Tag Team Showcase at WWE WrestleMania 39
The next match on WWE WrestleMania 39: Night 1 was the Men’s WrestleMania Showcase featuring Braun Strowman and Ricochet vs. The Viking Raiders (Erik and Ivar) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) vs. Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis).
A fast-paced instant classic tag team wrestling matchup in which all 8 of the men’s left everything in the ring.
Almost every superstar in this match attempted top rope splashes, but it was Braun Strowman of all people who nailed it and made a WrestleMania moment for himself.
Ricochet blew the roof off the SoFi Stadium with his springboard shooting star press on the outside of the ring laying out everyone in his path.
After that Ricochet went for a second Shooting Star Press in the ring for the victory, but Dawkins got his knees up in time.
Dawkins held Ricochet in place for Ford to hit a big frosh splash to Ricochet’s back. Dawkins subsequently rolled up Ricochet for the win.
Ricochet and Strowman did lose the match to the experience and tag team chemistry of The Street Profit but they were the MVPs of the match including Ricochet’s crossbody off the top turnbuckle taking out everybody.

Seth Rollins def. Logan Paul at WWE WrestleMania 39
Next on WWE WrestleMania 39: Night 1 was the match between the two of the most decorated superstars on the roasters.
Rollins vs. Paul gave WrestleMania fans their first taste of elaborate entrances.
Paul trolled the audience with an extremely annoying variation of Shawn Michaels’ iconic WrestleMania XII entrance, ziplining to the stage while shouting into a wireless microphone.
Paul was also accompanied by a life-sized bottle of his Prime beverage, which was later revealed to be his partner in his crime KSI.
When the incredible frog splash by Paul couldn’t put away The Architect. Loman went on to attempt a coast-to-coast which was countered with a crazy superkick out of nowhere by the visionary.
After that Rollins managed to hit the Stomp and pick up the victory over Paul.
This was Rollins’s first victory on the Grandest Stage of them all since WrestleMania 35 when he slayed the Beast.

Becky Lynch, Trish Stratus, and Lita def. Damage CTRL
It was now time for the match between six of the top-tier superstars from the women’s divisions at WWE WrestleMania 39: Night 1.
The Man started the match for her team. Throughout the start of the match Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY kept her isolated from her team.
Lynch finally found her way to tag in Lita and she regained some short-lived momentum for her squad.
Trish Stratus went on to hit multiple strikes which led to a head scissors takedown of Bayley and Kai.
With a little assist from her teammates Lynch and Lita, Trish Stratus hit a Stratosphere taking out all of Damage CTRL.
Lynch and Bayley tagged themself in and eventually became the legal competitors, but that didn’t stop Trish Stratus from hitting a Stratusfaction on Kai.
After a Bayley-to-Belly to Trish Stratus, Sky climbed to the top rope and hit a mesmerizing moonsault taking out nearly every Superstar in the match, creating a WrestleMania moment for herself.
Lita hit all the cylinders as she delivered a Twist of Fate and a Litasault on Kai and SKY, allowing Lynch to hit a second rope Man-handle Slam on Bayley which earned her team the victory.

The Legend “Rey Mysterio” def. Dominik Mysterio at WWE WrestleMania 39
For only the second time in history, we saw a father and son do battle at WrestleMania when Rey and Dominik Mysterio fought in a single match against each other.
The entrance part of both of the competitors we really good, dom doing his prison gimmick stuff and Rey, who came to the ring wearing a Great Muta-inspired mask in a tricked-out lowrider driven by Snoop Dogg paying homage to the Latino Legend Eddie Guerrero.
Rey undid his belt and proceeded to use it to whip his son behind, punching the punk for his sins.
Angry, Dominik then confronted his mother and sister, even tossing a drink in his sister Aalyah Gutierrez’s face.
After that things only got worst for Dom Dom as Rey beat the living hell out of him. Rey Mysterio hit the 619 and had the match in his grasp, but Judgement Day intervened. That led to the arrival of Legado del Fantasma, now rebranded as the Latin World Order to even the playing field.
Later Dominik hit Rey with a 619 of his own followed by a frog splash, but Rey kicked out. Dominik tried to follow it up by hitting his dad with a steel chain that Priest had hidden on the apron, but Bad Bunny, who was on the Spanish commentary table at ringside, came out and snatched the chain from Dominik’s hands.
The distraction allowed Rey to knock Dominik into the ropes, hit another 619, and then a frog splash of his own to defeat his son.

Rhea Ripley def. Charlotte Flair (SmackDown Womens Championship)
Next up comes the match that in my opinion is one the greatest women’s matches ever in the history of WWE. Two womens stepped into the ring and left everything they had leaving with the glory of greatness.
The match began with the Strong strikes and a German suplex followed for Ripley and she began to mock the champion. Not one to be insulted, Flair responded with her incredible offense and knocked Ripley flat on her back down on the mat.
A series of crazy moves and near-falls populated the back half of the match. Following the chaos, Ripley landed a terrifying German suplex that saw Flair land awkwardly on her head and face. Luckily, she appeared to be alright.
An attempt at the Figure-Eight Leglock from Charlotte was countered by a headbutt and a Riptide, but still, Flair managed to kick out. Ripley returned the favor by kicking out a spear just seconds later.
Both Superstars found themselves battling at the ring post, and Ripley managed to knock Flair onto the top rope. The challenger scaled the turnbuckle, grabbed ahold of Charlotte, and hit her with a devastating Riptide to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
In my opinion, this was one of the greatest women’s championship matches ever in the history of WWE.

The Miz Vs Pat McAfee at WWE WrestleMania 39
The Miz and Snoop Dogg were there to announce the attendance for the show, and The A-Lister issued an open challenge that was answered by Pat McAfee.
McAfee unloaded on The A-Lister with everything he had in his arsenal and dropped him with a spine buster.
The former WWE commentator nailed him with a superkick. The Miz shoved George Kittle at ringside, so the San Francisco 49ers star hopped the barricade and shoved him to the ground.
McAfee jumped off the ring post and took The Miz down with a senton before he drilled him with a running kick to pick up the quick win.
Overall match was fun. I just love MacAfee and it was nothing less than a surprise treat.

My Prediction: It was never on the card
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn def. The Usos
Just when you think, What a Mania it is. It’s time for the Main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 39.
In my opinion, the WWE universe has just witnessed the greatest Tag Team wrestling match.
The Usos showed early why they’re such dominant champions, using their incredible teamwork to keep Zayn away from his partner. However, Zayn found his opening and tagged in Owens who immediately began to decimate Jimmy and Jey, following with a big frog splash.
Later on, Jimmy and Jey turned their attention to Owens and slammed him through the announce table, leaving Zayn even more alone in the ring. Zayn continued to fight as he became the first Superstar to ever kick out of the 1D.
A carousel of super kicks set up yet another near-fall after The Usos hit Owens with their finisher. Owens hit a Fisherman’s Buster off the top rope that served as the match’s final pendulum swing.
Before, Kevin and Sami separated The USOS apart from each other countering their A+ tier team game.
Zayn landed three consecutive Helluva Kicks to Jey Uso for the three counts and pick up the Win.
