WWE Royal Rumble (2025) is the 38th annual Royal Rumble PLE that took place on Feb 1, 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event featured 2 annual Royal Rumble matches for both Men’s and Women’s divisions, with the winner getting a guaranteed shot at the Championship of their choice at WWE WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
WWE Royal Rumble is one of the “Big Five” WWE PLEs along with WWE WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and Money in the Bank. Superstars from WWE Raw, WWE SmackDown, and WWE NXT are all set to appear on the show. Major athletes from TNA Wrestling would also appear on the show as part of the WWE and TNA Wrestling partnership which took place in Jan. 2025.
WWE Royal Rumble (2025) is also the first-ever WWE PLE to be broadcast live on Netflix outside the USA, as part of the 10-year deal between WWE and Netflix. The event would also mark the first match of John Cena’s farewell tour which will continue till the end of 2025.
2025 Women’s WWE Royal Rumble Match
Stephanie McMahon walked out as she kicked off the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble and welcomed the fans to the road to WrestleMania 41. The show kicked off with the 8th annual 30-Women’s WWE Royal Rumble match.
Iyo Sky ‘No.1’ and Liv Morgan ‘No.2’ started the 2025 Women’s WWE Royal Rumble match. Following up with WWE Women’s Intercontinental Lyra Valkyria ‘No.4’ and United States Champion Chelsea Green ‘No.5’. B-Fab was the first competitor to get eliminated from the match by Chelsea Green.
Bianca Belair joined the match at ‘No.10’. Zoey Stark got back up when Shayna Baszler entered the match at ‘No.11.’ Last year’s winner Bayley joined the match at ‘No.12’. Sonya Deville entered the match at ‘No.13’ joining her friends Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler.
Belair got some backup when Naomi joined the match at ‘No.15’. Meanwhile Piper Niven ‘No.17’ joined ‘No.5’ Chelsea Green and also eliminated her. Jordynne Grace entered the match at ‘No.19’, followed by Michin at ‘No.20’.
Alexa Bliss made her big return at ‘No.21’. Trish Stratus entered the match at ‘No.25’. Liv Morgan got some backup when Raquel Rodriguez entered the match at ‘No.26.’

#DIY defend their WWE Tag Team Championship against Motor City Machine Guns in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match
Once upon a time friends, now enemies Motor City Machine Guns challenged DIY in a 2-out-of-3 Falls match for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
- DIY got the first fall via pinfall by Tommaso Ciampa.
- MCMG got the second fall via pinfall by Alex Shelley.
Street Profits attacked Motor City Machine Guns during the match.
Result: DIY took the advantage and won the third fall to win the match with 2-1.

Cody Rhodes defends his WWE Undisputed Championship against Kevin Owens in a Ladder Match
Both Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens came along with each of the championships as they handed them over to referees to hang them up. Rhodes and Owens went fighting all over the Lucas Oil Stadium, and dropping each other through the ladders as the match rolled on.
Owens hit Rhodes with a fisherman buster through the ladder during the match which was an absolutely crazy spot. Sami Zayn along with Nick Aldis also arrived on the scene after checking on both of his friends. Owens also hit Rhodes with a low blow, hoping to hit a package piledriver. But Rhodes managed to hit Owens with an Alabama slam through a ladder as he climbed the ladder inside the ring to win the match.
An absolute banger, perhaps one of the best ladder matches ever in the history of WWE.
Result: Cody Rhodes defeated Kevin Owens to retain his WWE Undisputed Championship

2025 Men’s WWE Royal Rumble Match:
Rey Mysterio ‘No.1’ and Penta ‘No.2’ started the 2025 Men’s WWE Royal Rumble match. The lucha takeover started to begin at the Royal Rumble when Santos Escobar entered the match at ‘No.5’. Bron Breakker arrived on the scene at ‘No.7’. Akira Tozawa came to enter the match at ‘No.8’ but got taken out by Carmelo Hayes on the way and was replaced by IShowSpeed. Sheamus ‘No.9’ and Jimmy Uso ‘No.10’ then entered the match.
Jacob Fatu entered the field at ‘No.12’, followed up by Ludwig Kaiser at ‘No.13’. Joe Hendry entered the match at ‘No.15’.

Following him were Drew McIntyre at ‘No.17’ and Finn Bálor at ‘No.18’. WWE United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura entered the match at ‘No.19’ and Jey Uso at ‘No.20’. Aj Styles then returned at ‘No.21’, and following up with him was Braun Strowman at ‘No.22’.
John Cena then entered his last WWE Royal Rumble match at ‘No.23’. Following him were CM Punk at ‘No.24’ and Seth Rollins at ‘No.25’.
Sami Zayn then entered the match at ‘No.27’, followed up by Damian Priest at ‘No.28’. Logan Paul was the last entrant in the match, following up with LA Knight who entered at ‘No.29’.
