WWE Survivor Series: WarGames (2024) was a WWE PLE that took place on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. WWE’s Superstars from both Raw and SmackDown brands will participate in their respective WarGames matches for men’s and women’s divisions. This year’s show marked the 38th annual event for the PLE. WWE Survivor Series is also the second longest PLE show in the history of WWE, following WrestleMania.
The theme of this WarGames match is to place two rings side by side and surround them with one single steel cage. Only one member of each team is allowed to enter the WarGames match at once while the remaining members are captured in another shark cage on the entranceway. Both teams also have to win an advantage match in the buildup to the show to determine which team will have the member’s advantage during the WarGames match before all members of both teams have entered the ring. The match can only begin once all the members of both teams have entered the WarGames after their respective timers.
WWE Survivor Series is a part of the WWE’s “Big Five” PLEs of the calendar year along with the WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble, and Money in the Bank. The 2024 WWE Survivor Series was the last one to be aired on the WWE Network as from Jan 2025 WWE Content will be moving to Netflix.
Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Naomi, Iyo Sky & Bayley vs. Liv Morgan, Nia Jax, Raquel Rodriguez, Tiffany Stratton & Candice LeRae (Women’s WarGames Match)
Unlike the men’s WWE Survivor Series: WarGames match, the women’s side of the match is a bit twisted. First off we have Liv Morgan joining forces with Raquel Rodriguez on her revenge tour against Rhea Ripley. Ever since kicking off her revenge tour Morgan has done everything to make Ripley’s life hell as she first took her Women’s World Heavyweight Championship and then kicked her out of the Judgement Day. Morgan also defeated Nia Jax to become the first-ever WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Champion.
Both Morgan and Rodriguez appeared on the following episode of Monday Night Raw to celebrate this huge victory for Morgan before they were interrupted by the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. A battle royal was scheduled to take place on the same night to determine the next No.1 Contender for the Liv Morgan’s Women’s World Championship. Both Morgan and Rodriguez appeared on the scene although they were never a part of the battle royal just to eliminate Belair and Cargil. The match was ultimately won by Iyo Sky.
Morgan and Rodriguez also lost the match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship next week. Morgan and Rodriguez, who were just not done with the WWE WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions attacked them backstage once again during the Nia Jax’s Women’s Championship Match against Naomi.
Jax then won the match after some even more interference from her buddies Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae.
On the Nov. 18, episode of Monday Night Raw, Reha Ripley made her return after being badly injured by Morgan and Rodriguez. Ripley attacked Morgan saying “War Games” as she made the match official for the Survivor Series: WarGames (2024).
Jade Cargill was attacked backstage on the Nov 22 edition of WWE SmackDown. It is uncertain who really attacked her but WWE has confirmed that she will be out of action with no timetable for her return.
On the following episode of Raw, Belair defeated Jax to earn the WarGames advantage for her team after an interference from Bayley. She added to the match as the fifth member of their team in replacement for Jade Cargill.

Gunther (C) vs. Damian Priest – World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames (2024)
Just a few months after living his biggest moment at WrestleMania XL, Damian Priest lost his World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther at WWE SummerSlam 2024 when he was betrayed by his best Finn Bálor. After battling “The Judgment Day” for months, Priest won a Fatal 4-Way Match on the Nov 4th episode of Raw after defeating Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Sheamus and Dominik Mysterio to become the new Challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship.
After all the betrayals and heartbreaks, Priest has once again got the opportunity to call himself the El Campeon if he can somehow dethrone Gunther.
I don’t personally see Priest becoming the World Heavyweight Championship this easily once again, since all of The Judgment Day members have their eyes on him, especially Finn Balor.

Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, The Usos & CM Punk vs. Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa & Bronson Reed (Men’s WarGames Match)
After losing his WWE Undisputed Championship at WrestleMania XL to Cody Rhodes, “The OTC” Roman Reigns made his return to WWE in August at this year’s WWE SummerSlam 2024 where he helped one of his biggest rivals ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes pin his cousin Solo Sikoa.
Ever since making his return, Roman Reigns has called out war on The New Bloodline of Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. Roman Reigns also reunited Jimmy & Jey “The Usos” to help him overcome this new regime of Solo Sikoa. They then went on to have a Six-man tag team match at Crown Jewel (2024) where they unfortunately lost to the New Bloodline. In all the mix of that Solo Sikoa, who is now calling himself the new leader of The Bloodline pinned Roman Reigns to win the match.
The New Bloodline of Solo Sikoa then ganged up on the “The OTC” Roman Reigns to deliver a powerbomb on him onto the announce table, but Jey interrupted with a super kick to Jacob Fatu. The New Bloodline then cornered Jey Uso in the ring before Sami Zayn made his way to the ring to rescue and reunite with the OG Bloodline.
Zayn unleashed his fury of attack on the New Bloodline, The OG Bloodline then took out all members of the New Bloodline before they surrounded Solo Sikoa in the middle of the ring with no one to help and nowhere to go. Both Zayn and Reigns went for their finishing blows onto the Sikoa before he ducked underneath and Sami unintentionally kicked Roman with the Helluva Kick. This led to even more misunderstandings between Reigns and Zayn.
The Usos and Sami Zayn then come across on the following episode of Monday Night Raw, where Jimmy Uso confronted Zayn — saying that he attacked the OG Tribal Chief on purpose. Jey Uso then asked Zayn if he could appear on the following episode of Friday Night SmackDown to try and finish his misunderstandings with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline.
Zayn then appeared on the show where he stood face-to-face with Reigns and stated that the kick he delivered was not for him and it was a misunderstanding as he wanted to kick Sikoa. Zayn has run on emotions and told Reigns how good he felt when he was once again back with the OG Bloodline, referencing his days as the Honorary Uce in the OG Bloodline. But Reigns, who was not sure about Zayn’s loyalty to his Bloodline, refused to accept him and called out Solo Sikoa.
Later on that night, Reigns stood face-to-face with Solo Sikoa where Solo unveiled Sami as his fifth member for the WWE Survivor Series: WarGames (2024). Sami then made his way to the ring as the New Bloodline attacked Reigns. Solo then instructed Zayn to attack Reigns for what he did to him but Zayn who had made his choice delivered the Helluva Kick and this time he did not miss as he hit Solo right in the face. Zayn made his choice clear as he stood next to Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, and The Usos — acknowledging Roman Reigns as “The Tribal Chief” of The Bloodline.
Solo Sikoa then recruited Bronson Reed as the fifth member of the New Bloodline for the WWE Survivor Series: WarGames (2024) on the November 15 edition of SmackDown. On the following week’s edition of SmackDown, Paul Heyman returned to the WWE where he revealed his old client CM Punk as the final member of the OG Bloodline. Before this, Paul Hyman was last seen on the June 28, 2024, edition of SmackDown where he was attacked by the Solo Sikoa and the New Bloodline.

Bron Breakker (c) vs. Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser – Triple threat match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
Things in the WWE Intercontinental Championship picture have taken an interesting shape in the buildup to WWE Survivor Series: WarGames (2024). Ludwig Kaiser who is trying to get himself in the good graces of the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther has been involved in a rivalry with Sheamus for months now attacked Breakker during his title defense against Sheamus causing a disqualification win for him. This led to a non-title match between Breakker faced Kaiser on the following week. The match ended in a DQ win for Kaiser after getting attacked by Sheamus.
Breakker, who has just made his appearance on the main roster and looking to make a name for himself was having none of this what was going on between The Celtic Warrior and Ludwig Kaiser of the Imperium. A brawl then took place between all three men. WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce then announced a Triple threat match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at the WWE Survivor Series: WarGames (2024).
I think that the championship reign for Bron Breakker is about to come crashing down and Sheamus will finally capture the one last championship that he has never held in the WWE to complete his Grand Slam.

LA Knight (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura – WWE United States Championship
WWE United States Champion LA Knight has been on a roll ever since defeating Logan Paul at SummerSlam to capture the title. Only this time has an opponent like he has never faced before in the form of Shinsuke Nakamura.
On the November 15 episode of SmackDown, Nakamura made his return to the WWE and went right after Knight — attacking him in the middle of the ring right after his successful championship defense against Berto. Nakamura, who had his eyes set on the champion attacked Knight once again on the the next edition of SmackDown after his victory against the Santos Escobar in a WWE United States Championship match.
A match between LA Knight and Shinsuke Nakamura was made official for WWE Survivor Series: WarGames (2024) during the November 25 episode of Raw.

My Thoughts on WWE Survivor Series: WarGames (2024)
WWE has been putting a lot of work into building long-term storylines, and this year WWE Survivor Series: WarGames (2024) would be no different. If we look at the match card, a lot of storylines have built up since WrestleMania XL or just right after that. With so many different things brewing all at once, it certainly means that WWE cooking up big times for the upcoming WWE Survivor Series: WarGames (2024) show and things after that.
