WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXIX is a WWE PLE set to take place on May 24, 2025, at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.
The event will be streamed live on NBC and Peacock in the United States. Fans outside the USA will be able to stream live on YouTube all around the world for Free.
Jey Uso (c) vs. Logan Paul – World Heavyweight Championship
Jey Uso won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas when he dethroned Gunther. Logan Paul then called out Jey on the Apr. 28th edition of WWE Raw, saying that he wants his Championship. Jey answered back with a super kick to Paul, who then attacked Jey backstage later on the show.
Paul also attacked Jey on the May. 5th edition of WWE Raw after his first successful title defence against Seth Rollins. Jey also met Gunther on the May. 12th edition of WWE Raw, where Gunther announced that the winner of this match would defend the Championship against him on the June 9th episode of Raw in Phoenix.
Paul then met Gunther on the May. 19th edition of WWE Raw saying he would eventually go on to face him after WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Gunther then told Paul that he would take it as disrespect if he beat Jey. Jey then surprised Paul with a Superkick, who later settled the score with a punch to Jey.

CM Punk and Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker
Paul Heyman shocked the entire WWE Universe when he betrayed both Roman Reigns and CM Punk at WrestleMania 41, and helped Seth Rollins pick up the win.
While Punk and Reigns were nowhere to be seen after WrestleMania, Sami Zayn decided to stand up to Seth Rollins on the Apr. 28th edition of WWE Raw and knock sense into him. Meanwhile, Rollins offered Zayn to either join his new crew or leave WWE Raw and go to WWE SmackDown. Zayn battled Bron Breakker later that night, who dominated him to pick up the win — followed by a Stomp from Rollins to Zayn after the match.
Rollins then challenged Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship on the May. 5th edition of WWE Raw, where Punk and Zayn got involved to help Jey causing the match to end via disqualification. Punk, Zayn, and Jey then took the fight to Rollins and Breakker on the May. 12th edition of WWE Raw when they tried to attack Punk in 2 on 1 situation after he called Heyman a snake for what he did to him and Reigns at WrestleMania.
A tag team match was later made official for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Breakker then collided in a singles match against Jey on May. 19th edition of WWE Raw which ended in disqualification after an attack by Seth Rollins. Punk and Zayn then arrived on the scene to help Jey against the onslaught of Breakker and Rollins, which turned into an epic chaos.

John Cena vs. R-Truth
R-Truth came to congratulate John Cena on the Backlash 2025 Post-Show after his victory against Randy Orton, saying that he is proud of him even though fans say that he can’t wrestle. Cena had enough of Truth and hit him with an Attitude Adjustment through the table.
Truth then appeared in an interview segment on the May. 16th edition of WWE SmackDown and challenged Cena to match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, which was then made official.
Truth sent a final message to Cena before their match on the May. 23rd edition of WWE SmackDown saying that he is all corrupted and that he will bring him back.

Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre – Steel Cage match
The rivalry between Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre originally began at WrestleMania 40 when Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank on McIntyre to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Priest and McIntyre renewed their rivalry this year, which led to a Sin City Street Fight at WrestleMania 41 — where McIntyre defeated Priest.
Priest and McIntyre then crossed paths at WWE Blacklash, where they clashed Fatal Four-way match for the WWE United States Championship alongside Jacob Fatu and LA Knight. Neither of the two men was able to capture the championship for themself after Priest hit McIntyre with a South of Heaven chokeslam on top of the table, which took them both out of the match.
Priest then laid out a challenge to McIntyre for match inside the steel cage on the May. 16th edition of WWE SmackDown which McIntyre accepted saying “One of them will leave the Steel Cage on a stretcher at Saturday Night’s Main Event.”
Both Priest and McIntyre took the fight to each other on multiple occasions on the May. 23rd edition of WWE SmackDown before stepping inside the Steel cage.

Zelina Vega (c) vs. Chelsea Green – WWE Women’s United States Championship
Chelsea Green had all the momentum by her side before she lost the Women’s United States Championship to Zelina Vega on the Apr. 25th edition of WWE SmackDown. Vega then also got a tag team win over Green and Piper Niven when she teamed with Alexa Bliss on May. 9th edition of WWE SmackDown.
Meanwhile, Green also came short in the 2025 Women’s Money in the Bank qualifying match on the May. 16th edition of WWE SmackDown. Green, alongside Niven and Fyre then attacked Vega on May. 23rd edition of WWE SmackDown.
The match was then made official for Saturday Night’s Main Event with the Women’s United States Championship on the line.
